Role: AutoCAD Technician (Full-time/Permanent)

Description:

This is a full-time in-office role for an AutoCAD Technician at Khachi Design + Build. The AutoCAD Technician will be responsible for technical drawings, permit drawings, communication, creating construction drawings, and as-builts. The role will involve collaborating with the design and construction teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the design process. Additional assets will include quantity take-offs and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers to develop detailed drawings and plans.

• Prepare technical documents and working drawing sets.

• Coordinate with Designers to ensure design specifications are met.

• Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.

• Conduct site visits to produce detailed and accurate site measures.

• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from the Principal and Designers.

• Maintain organized project files and documentation.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and can identify alternative solutions to challenges.

• Excellent oral/written communication skills using the English language.

Qualifications:

• Technician or Technology Diploma or Degree or equivalent.

• 5+ years of relevant experience in CAD Drafting with AutoCAD.

• Proven ability to prioritize multiple deliverables while demonstrating to effectively meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential and other relevant design software is an asset.

• Ability to interpret Architectural, Interior Design, Electrical, and Mechanical drawing sets and specifications.

• Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.

• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with coworkers, the consulting team.

Skills:

• Proficient in building architectural drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

• Knowledge of Adobe software for editing and enhancing design drawings.

Other:

• Successful candidate must be familiar with OBC and standard construction practices
