our intermediate designers are an integral part of our team; they are passionate, detail-oriented, AND experienced. They work collaboratively with their team under the direction of our senior designers and principal, ramsin khachi. our ideal candidate is an individual who is highly self-motivated with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment. they dedicate their energy TO delivering exceptional projects within given TIMELINES and overseeing the execution of a variety of long-term, high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects from concept through to procurement and installation.

Responsibilities

  • Produce full design packages for building permit submission

  • Develop project proposals, design drawings, and detailed plans

  • Track and manage multiple client projects

  • ensure design concepts align with khachi design + build’s vision and are realized according to studio standards

  • Develop finish, fixtures, equipment, hardware, and plumbing schedules

  • Preparing material boards and graphic layouts for client presentations

  • Coordination with the internal construction team, assigned project MANAGER, and suppliers

  • Conduct regular construction site visits

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects

  • BACHELOR’S degree from an accredited school of interior design, architecture, or EQUIVALENt

  • Knowledge of the full design process including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation

  • exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Knowledge of interior millwork construction and details

  • accustomed to working in a fast-paced, DEADLINE-ORIENTED environment

  • Must have a strong understanding of building science

  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and local zoning bylaws

  • Valid BCIN for houses or small buildings considered a valuable asset

  • Substantial hand sketching and rendering ability

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, In-Design, Acrobat, Illustrator)

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Revit proficiency a plus
