our intermediate designers are an integral part of our team; they are passionate, detail-oriented, AND experienced. They work collaboratively with their team under the direction of our senior designers and principal, ramsin khachi. our ideal candidate is an individual who is highly self-motivated with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment. they dedicate their energy TO delivering exceptional projects within given TIMELINES and overseeing the execution of a variety of long-term, high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects from concept through to procurement and installation.
Responsibilities
Produce full design packages for building permit submission
Develop project proposals, design drawings, and detailed plans
Track and manage multiple client projects
ensure design concepts align with khachi design + build’s vision and are realized according to studio standards
Develop finish, fixtures, equipment, hardware, and plumbing schedules
Preparing material boards and graphic layouts for client presentations
Coordination with the internal construction team, assigned project MANAGER, and suppliers
Conduct regular construction site visits
Qualifications
4-6 years of experience in high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects
BACHELOR’S degree from an accredited school of interior design, architecture, or EQUIVALENt
Knowledge of the full design process including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation
exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
Knowledge of interior millwork construction and details
accustomed to working in a fast-paced, DEADLINE-ORIENTED environment
Must have a strong understanding of building science
Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and local zoning bylaws
Valid BCIN for houses or small buildings considered a valuable asset
Substantial hand sketching and rendering ability

Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, In-Design, Acrobat, Illustrator)

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Revit proficiency a plus
